In keeping with the experimental spirit and unconventional creative processes of the Toogood studio, the Butter Sofa takes shape from a lump of Cornish butter moulded by slippery fingers. Generously padded – soft, tactile, and comforting, just like butter – the sofa rests on large volumes reminiscent of building blocks, modular and easily reconfigurable. “There is beauty in the small things of everyday life: sometimes you don’t need to go beyond the breakfast table to discover new meaning” – Faye Toogood.
